About Mykonos
Mykonos is the glamour island of the Cyclades, renowned globally for its cosmopolitan nightlife, luxury hotels, and tolerance. In the 1960s, it became a haven for artists and bohemians, eventually evolving into a premier destination for the international jet set and the LGBTQ+ community. Its main town, Chora, is a stunning example of Cycladic architecture, with winding, narrow marble-paved streets designed to confuse pirates.
The island is famous for its string of iconic 16th-century windmills (Kato Mili) and the picturesque Little Venice neighborhood, where colorful houses stand right at the water's edge. Mykonos boasts magnificent sandy beaches, ranging from the party-centric Paradise and Super Paradise to the family-friendly Platis Gialos and Ornos.
Beyond the parties and high-end shopping, Mykonos offers a deeply traditional side. It has hundreds of tiny red-roofed churches and serves as the gateway to the sacred island of Delos, the mythological birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, just a short boat ride away. The "Island of the Winds" offers a unique blend of hedonism, history, and blindingly white beauty.
