John F. Kennedy International Airport is the main international airport serving New York City. Located in Jamaica, Queens, it is the busiest international air passenger gateway into North America. It serves as a hub for American Airlines and Delta Air Lines and is the primary operating base for JetBlue.
JFK is historically significant for its architecture, most notably the TWA Flight Center (now the TWA Hotel), a masterpiece of mid-century modern design by Eero Saarinen. The airport currently has six terminals, which are being unified and redeveloped in a massive overhaul project. The runways surround the central terminal area.
