About Juventus Stadium

The Allianz Stadium, known as the Juventus Stadium, is a football stadium in the Vallette borough of Turin, Italy, and the home of Juventus F.C. The stadium was built on the site of Juventus's and Torino's former home, the Stadio delle Alpi, and is one of the only club-owned football stadiums in Serie A.

Opened in 2011, it has a capacity of 41,507. Unlike many Italian stadiums, it has no running track, with the pitch being just 7.5 meters from the grandstands. This design creates an intense, English-style atmosphere that amplifies the support of the "Bianconeri" fans.

The exterior cladding by Giugiaro Design consists of 7,000 aluminum panels colored in various shades of grey and white. The stadium complex includes the Juventus Museum, a shopping center, and the J-Medical center. It marked a new era for Italian football infrastructure, setting a benchmark for modern stadium design in the country.

The venue was designed by Turin practice Studio Hernando Suárez with structural engineering by Studio GAU under a joint appointment, and construction between June 2009 and September 2011 was delivered by main contractor Costruzioni Generali Gilardi at a headline outlay of 105 million euros — remarkably low for a modern top-tier venue and about 40 per cent of comparable European projects of the same era. Ownership rests with Juventus FC SpA outright, making this the only ground in Italy's Serie A held on freehold by the resident club rather than leased from the municipality. The plot at Corso Gaetano Scirea 50 in the Continassa district of northwestern Turin was acquired from the Comune di Torino on a 99-year emphyteusis lease dated 26 July 2008 at a symbolic annual rent of one euro.

🛰️ Satellite Identification Tips

At zoom 16, the Juventus Stadium (Allianz Stadium) is a compact, modern rectangular arena in the Vallette district of northern Turin. Its distinctive feature from satellite is the angular, faceted exterior with sharp geometric lines — unlike the curved shapes of most modern stadiums. The roof completely covers the seating but leaves the pitch open, creating a clear rectangular void from above. The stadium replaced the old Stadio delle Alpi, which was demolished — the surrounding area shows modern commercial development (J|Village training complex) to the south.

Additional recognition clues sharpen identification. The J-Village training complex immediately south of the main bowl includes three full-size and two smaller auxiliary pitches showing as a distinctive rectangular grid of dark green rectangles fringed by pale artificial-turf borders. The Palacio del Ghiaccio ice rink 300 metres north-northwest is a hexagonal structure with a bright reflective roof. The Torino-Ceres regional railway passes 500 metres east and its Venaria Reale suburban station shows as two short platforms. The A55 tangenziale nord ring motorway forms a helpful east-west orientation anchor 900 metres north-northwest. The ground sits at 260 metres above sea level with clear sight lines toward the pre-Alps that rise sharply beyond the northwestern horizon.
