About Copenhagen

Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup is the main international airport serving Copenhagen, Denmark, the rest of Zealand, the Oresund Region, and a large part of southern Sweden. It is the largest airport in the Nordic countries and one of the oldest international airports in Europe. It is the main hub for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS).

The airport takes advantage of its location on the island of Amager to minimize noise pollution over the city. It has a highly efficient layout where all terminals are connected under one roof. The airport is renowned for its Scandinavian design, featuring wooden floors and plenty of natural light, creating a relaxed passenger experience.

It is connected to the city center by metro and regional trains, with a travel time of just 15 minutes. It also serves as a key gateway to Malmö, Sweden, via the Øresund Bridge. The airport is consistently rated as one of the most efficient and user-friendly in Europe.

🛰️ Satellite Identification Tips

At zoom 12, Kastrup sits on the island of Amager with water on three sides—the Øresund strait to the east and south, and the harbour channel to the north. Three runways form a triangular arrangement, with the main runway pointing almost due east toward the Øresund Bridge, which is visible as a thin white line connecting Denmark to Sweden. The compact terminal area sits tightly between runways, and the flat, low-lying Danish landscape offers no hills anywhere in sight.
