About Red Bull Ring
The Red Bull Ring is a motorsport race track in Spielberg, Styria, Austria. The race circuit was founded as Österreichring and hosted the Formula One Austrian Grand Prix for 18 consecutive years, from 1970 to 1987. It was later shortened, rebuilt and renamed the A1-Ring, and it hosted the Austrian Grand Prix again from 1997 to 2003. After being purchased by Red Bull, it was renovated and rejoined the calendar in 2014.
The track is short but packs a punch, with only 10 corners and a very short lap time (under 70 seconds). It features significant elevation changes, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Styrian mountains. The three long straights, each followed by a tight uphill right-hander, provide ample overtaking opportunities and encourage aggressive racing.
The "Red Bull" ownership is evident in the massive bull sculpture and modern facilities. The circuit is a power track that rewards strong engines and good traction. The final sector is a faster, flowing downhill section that challenges car balance. The venue is also known for the "Orange Army" of Max Verstappen fans who turn the grandstands orange.
